Greenbelt is adjacent to the intersection of the Washington Beltway (I-495) and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (SR 295). I have given directions for all four approaches to this intersection. Take the exit for the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (state route 295) northbound toward Baltimore (preceding exit: Kenilworth Avenue). Merge, then take the immediate next exit for Greenbelt Road (state route 193), which turns off just as you pass under a bridge. Keep to the right and stay in your lane as it becomes the merge lane for Greenbelt Road west. Continue to stay in your lane as the merge lane turns off onto Southway. Merge onto Southway as you see the Citgo station come into view on your left. Proceed straight on Southway through a traffic light, past the large "Welcome to Greenbelt" sign, and through a four-way stop. Common directions continued below.
Take the exit for the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (state route 295) northbound toward Baltimore (preceding exit: Annapolis Road/state route 450). The exit will split, and you will want to bear left. Continue in that lane and do not merge onto the Parkway. You will go under a bridge and then your lane will become the exit lane for Greenbelt Road (state route 193). Keep to the right and stay in your lane as it becomes the merge lane for Greenbelt Road west. Continue to stay in your lane as the merge lane turns off onto Southway. Merge onto Southway as you see the Citgo station come into view on your left. Take the exit for Greenbelt/Greenbelt Road (preceding exit: Goddard Space Flight Center employees' entrance). The exit goes up a slight hill. Bear right as you go up the hill and merge onto Southway just in front of the large "Welcome to Greenbelt" sign. Move over one lane when you can (the right-hand lane is right-turn only at the next intersection). Continue on Southway through the first four-way stop. Common directions continued below.
If you're joining us for lunch at the New Deal, go straight through the second four-way stop, then turn left into the Greenbelt Center parking lot. Park there (pick a spot that's not time-limited if you're planning on spending the afternoon with us), then go up the three steps on the north side of the parking lot and take the walkway toward the small plaza. The Café is on your right. We'll be in the back room, and you might see us as you walk past, but to get something to eat you're better off entering from the plaza entrance rather than the side entrance because that's where you order.
If you're going straight to the minicon, turn left at the second four-way stop, then right at the next stop sign into the Greenbelt Library parking lot. The Community Center is the large white building on your right. Park here, then enter through the entrance at the far corner of the parking lot. Take the stairs or elevator up two levels, and we'll be up on the second floor (you're starting from the basement) in room 202, the Theater Rehearsal Room, which is on the right.
