Wiese Weekend: Hunterdon County Public Library

Our main event, as planned, was a series of talks at the Hunterdon County Public Library. However, due to various complications I ended up being the only speaker. The handful of attendees who made it through the miserable weather did get to see a sampling of the originals from the library's extensive collection, as well as photocopies of all the pieces in their Wiese archive. We were also impressed with the library's near-complete set of Freddy books - the best I've seen outside of Roxbury!

Three originals sitting in a study carrel: one from Freddy's Cousin Weedly, one illustrating a scene removed from Freddy and the Men From Mars (my theory, anyway), and the jacket art for Freddy and Simon the Dictator.

The handful who braved miserable weather to visit the library: Kevin Parker, Susan Brynteson, Murray and Jeff Millican, Nancy Joroff, Sarah Flaherty (taking the photograph was Sharon Millican).
