This years convention will kick off Friday evening at the Winter Clove Inn with the premiere of the "Last Pig Standing" book-off. The premise of the Last Pig Standing is that not all pigs are created equal - and some Freddy books are better than others!
Listen in shock and awe as six august Freddy scholars duke it out, trotter to trotter, snout to snout, in a porcine showdown that combines elements of Survivor, American Idol, and pigstyle-pigsty mud-rassling. At the end of the weekend one book will be crowned "The Best Freddy Ever" and we shall all go home, if not enlightened, at least amused. The six books currently in the running are:

If you'd like to see another book on the list, get your votes for favorite Freddy book into Nancy Joroff. Come prepared to advocate for or against any of these books, and remember, bribery is a form of advocacy!

The 2008 Friends of Freddy convention will take place at The Winter Clove Inn, Round Top, NY. It's under an hour's drive southwest of Albany, NY, and about an hour's drive from Brooks's hometown of Roxbury.
The convention will begin Friday evening, September 12, around 7 pm and continue into Monday, September 15. Remember, people come to the conventions not only to discuss Freddy, but also to meet each other. So come make new friends and visit old ones and have a weekend of fun. Hope to see you all!
The convention is currently free except for the cost of the Saturday night banquet. Donations, however, are always welcome.
The Winter Clove Inn is a four-season Catskill vacation resort. Rates per room are $105 per person per night Friday and Saturday and $95 per person per night for Sunday and Monday. These prices include all three meals but neither tax nor gratuities. For reservations call 518.622.3267. Be sure to mention the Friends of Freddy in order to get the convention rate. The Inn prefers payment by cash or check but will take Visa or Mastercard as well (but not Discover or American Express). Room rates will be held until August 1.
